Large Antique Silver Curb bracelet. French Antique from the late 1800s. The English also created this type of large curb link in the same period, also for bracelets, but only in Gold, not Silver. An example of this English Gold large curb-link bracelet is on this site, item #5 in the “Gold Antique Jewellery” segment. The French Silver examples often employ the “night’n’day” enhancement, alternating a polished link with a worked link, as is often the case with the English equivalents. Frequently the French Silver examples were given highlights of Gold, e.g. small 9ct Rose Gold rosettes soldered on every second or third link; indeed, this is more often the case than not, so that a Silver bracelet without Gold touches is even more rare.
The large curb linkage in this type of Antique bracelet, be it English Gold or French Silver, was always hollow, for if it were solid Gold or solid Silver it would be uncomfortably heavy. And, of course, such large hollow curb linkage could not and can not be machine-made; bracelets such as the above are completely handcrafted; so labour-intensive is this work that it has not been produced for a  hundred years.
The above Large Antique Silver curb-link bracelet has some typically indecipherable French stamps on one of the clasp links.
