GIA Certification Diamonds. The Gemololgical Institute of America is the oldest and most trusted Diamond institute in the world. Based in California since the 1930s, it created the system of classification of Diamond quality that is used today, based around the 4 C’s of Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat weight.
Each Diamond certified by the GIA comes with a detailed certificate that provides the exact measurements of the gemstone, a grading of its clarity together with a drawing indicating the disposition of the inclusions, and the grading given for the three essential elements of cut, symmetry and polish. When these three elements of cut, symmetry and polish are of high grade, the sparkle and glitter of the gemstone is at its best. The GIA grading of these three elements for both the above gemstones is Excellent/Excellent/Excellent. These are very fine Diamonds.
Each Diamond certified by the GIA also has its own registered number, and that number is laser-engraved on the girdle of the gemstone. In the case of the above gemstones the registration of one is #2318194564, the other #1319430444.
