Fox Mine Nevada Turquoise. The Fox Mine of Lander County, Nevada, is no longer working; it first came into production in the 1900s and was a big producer of Turquoise, a lot of it of quite high, hard grade, for a century. The above gemstone comes from the stock held by a dealer from Austin, in Lander County, who attends some of the biggest jewellery fairs in the States.
The above Fox Mine Turquoise is gemstone quality; the inclusions of its mother rock may not appeal to all Turquoise fanciers, but they add authentic character to the gemstone, and its blue is a lovely Turquoise shade.
Please note: there is a substantial amount of 9ct Gold in this Sydney-handmade pendant, in the setting and granules of the bottom Emerald gemstone, in the flowing curve at the top of the setting, and in the oval bail: over 2.3 grams of solid 9ct Gold, enough to make a sturdy 9ct Gold band.
