Different Turquoise blues, from the deep blue of the centre bead through green blues to pale blues, handcut in shapes various: barrel cut, button shapes and cylinders long and short. All the Different Turquoise in the above strand originate in the south-west of the United States, and all the gemstone material is untreated, natural in its Turquoise shades of blue. All the beads are in so-called “native-cut” shapes, cut by hand in Jaipur, Rajasthan, none of the beads of uniform shape or size and in shapes that have been around for millenia.
It is possible that all the Different Turquoise blues in this necklace originate in the same Arizona mine, for Turquoise is a highly variable gemstone; over the eons different rates and concentrations of leaching copper can result in a wide range of Turquoise colours in the same mother rock.
