Aquamarine .32ct AGrade. The name Aquamarine is simply the amalgamation of two Latin words: aqua/water and marin/sea. Aquamarine is a member of the Beryl crystal family, a family that includes both Emerald and the lovely pink Morganite.
Emerald is rare; Morganite, though not as rare as Emerald, is much less plentiful than Aquamarine. Both Emerald and Aquamarine are much more popular than Morganite, much better known. Emerald and Aquamarine have been appreciated gemstones since ancient times; Morganite was “discovered” by gemologists in the late 1800s when modern scientific tools found it to be part of the Beryl crystal family.
