The coiled form represents the snake, and is one of the very oldest symbols of mythology. representing health and regeneration, duality, guardianship, life and death. Across civilizations the snake has been a potent symbol. The Ancient Motif, twice repeated on each eardrop, is created with Silver wire fixed onto the gradually widening rod of the eardrop, starting at the top ring and finishing at the first snake coil, then starting again directly below the first snake coil, through the second snake coil to finish at the bottom, at the widest point of the tapering rod.
