8mm Lapis Lazuli bead necklace, the Lapis of Afghanistan origin. The beads are actually closer to 7.5mm round, but “8mm Lapis”, as a heading on site for the item and its image, is easier for the administration back room of the site to handle.

The images show the original 46cms length Christopher William-created Lapis and Gold strand, 9ct Gold bead spacers around front, 9ct Gold finish/spring clasp. A customer wants this necklace in a length of 80cms.
Strings of matching AGrade Afghani Lapis, however, are not commonly available, for beads such as these are hand-cut, and to be matching in colour and intensity, they are invariably cut from the same section of mother-rock.
Another string of matching Lapis Lazuli beads has been found, but no more. Thus, to create the required 80cms length, it is necessary to unpick, disassemble the original 46cms strand and re-present the Lapis and Gold components to the Sydney professional stranders, for the creation of an 80cms length of these superior quality Afghani Lapis beads, complete with the 9ct Gold beads and spring clasp, strung on dark silk and knotted throughout.

The original 46cms strand was priced at $450.00. An extra $240.00 has now been added to that, covering the extra string of matching AGrade Afghani Lapis Lazuli beads, and the not inconsiderable cost of professional stranding in Sydney, especially where knotting is required each bead and the strand is long.
