3 Turquoise Nuggets, in a bracelet of Silver, properly articulated and securely linked, created and crafted in Sydney. The 3 Turquoise Nuggets are not from Australia, and the round bolt-ring spring clasp is an English import, and the very cute handcrafted and granulated Silver beads are old Bali, crafted in the very early 1980s, faithful replicas of an ancient traditional bead type formerly only made in 22ct Gold, but all the work of the secure Silver linkage is Sydney work.
The origin of the middle Turquoise Nugget is China. (According to the American Turquoise firm Durango, China has presently seventeen working Turquoise mines. Certainly the Turquoise gemstone has been greatly appreciated in China since ancient times, in jewellery and in the carving of artefacts. It is said that nowadays, i.e. the 2000s, most of the smaller Turquoise material sold in the American market has its source in fact in China.)
The two Turquoise nuggets closer to the clasp are Tibetan in origin, and fairly old, old when purchased from Tibetan traders in New Delhi in the 1970s.
Note the green-blue of the above 3 Turquoise Nuggets: this green-blue is common to Turquoise wherever it is mined, whether it be in the States or the Americas, Persia or China. The sky-blue, or egg-shell blue so associated with the Turquoise gemstone is, indeed, quite rare and, of course, costly.
