.23ct Diamond Princess set in 9ct White Gold ring. This ring was handcrafted in Sydney about twenty years ago, in solid 9ct White Gold, as a prototype for a design for a square-cut gemstone. The setting was put away, misplaced, and did not come to light until after the Christopher William retail store in Crows Nest Sydney was shut just pre-covid.
The ring has recently been professionally set in Sydney with the above fine white 3.5mm square cut Diamond. It is quite a solid ring, the band a uniform 3.25mm width and 1.6mm thickness, the profile a flattish dome, and somewhat unusual, for rarely these days are jewellery items of 9ct Gold crafted by hand, and especially is this so with items created in relatively high cost areas such as Australia. Normally such items in 9ct Gold are cast by machine from a wax or Silver mould/model.
