Deep Orange Red Gem Coral. This is a particularly fine example of gemstone-quality Coral, or “noble” Coral. Note the last image in the gallery, showing the rear of the Coral gemstone setting; the Coral’s Deep Orange Red colour is saturated all the way through.
The cut of the gemstone is interesting, for it is in the “native cut” barrel shape. The Jaipur gem-dealer through whom this gemstone Coral was sourced believed it had been cut from an old Tibetan Coral bead.
The ring setting is crafted by hand in Sydney, very solid, its band a uniform 3.75mm width, thickness tapering from 2.7mm at the top where it meets the gemstone mount, to 2.2mm thickness at the rear.
