Bright Square Ruby, with Diamond surround, set in a mount of solid 9ct Rose Gold, on a two-band ring of Sterling Silver.
The ring created and crafted in Sydney, the gemstones professionally set in Sydney by a master gemstone setter, the Ruby bezel set, the four White Diamonds bead set. (Bead setting is where the gemstone setter gouges up a granule, or “bead”, from the Gold and uses a number of such “beads”, at least three, to set a gemstone, pushing the granule over the girdle of the gemstone, all by using very particular gold-smithing tools for the cutting and pushing of the metal into shape.)

While the Gold and Silver setting for the above Bright Square Ruby and Diamonds is Sydney designed and crafted, the inspiration for the form of the Rose Gold 4-petal gemstone mount lay in a mid-1800s Georgian English tiepin top, the original set with old cut Diamonds of distinctly brownish colour, and considerably less solid than the above mount, but with the same essential elements: a square cut gemstone in the middle of a rondel of four segments, each segment set with a small gemstone.
