Ruby Marquise Cut set in a stylish sturdy 9ct Gold ring, with bright white Diamond highlights. The origin of the above Ruby Marquise gemstone is Mozambique on the west coast of Africa.
Ruby gemstone ranges in colour from pink to deep red, and can have orange tones; the most rare, and most costly, of Ruby colours is a bright deep red, sometimes called blood-red. The colour of the above Ruby Marquise is predominantly red, with no trace of orange and almost no hint of pink; it is a fine clear little gemstone, bright and clean in its Yellow Gold setting.
The four small Diamonds are all round Brilliants, all proper white, colour grade H, clarity grade SI1. Note the millgrain work around each of the small Diamond settings: the Sydney master gemstone setter who set all five gemstones in the above ring, is European trained and one of the few Sydney setters capable of neatly executing this sort of work.
Note also: the two gemstones of this ring are Ruby and Diamond, two of the hardest and most durable gemstones of Planet Earth, Diamond the hardest and Ruby second only to Diamond; and the ring itself is seriously sturdy and solid, would need very hard wear to damage.
