Fine White Diamonds of F to G grade colour and VS2 clarity, 18ct White Gold 4-claw earstuds. The Diamonds are 2.7mm round brilliant-cut. The “round brilliant cut” is a quite particular cut for round Diamonds devised in Belgium in the early 1900s, devised to channel, through reflection and refraction, the maximum of the light entering the gemstone up through and out of the face or top of the gemstone, to create maximum sparkle.
Theoretically, this “round brilliant cut” works on particular proportions, the table or flat top being 53% of the diameter of the gemstone, the crown, the top part above the girdle, being in depth 16.2% of the entire width or diameter, and the pavilion, the bottom upside-down pyramid beneath the girdle, being in depth 43.1% of the entire width or diameter. And theoretically, there are supposed to be 33 facets or cut surfaces on the crown and 25 facets on the pavilion.
