18ct Gold Ring, handcrafted setting for five gemstones, a central .15ct African Ruby of good red, surrounded by four rose cut Diamonds of light champagne colour (.64ct the four). Ring size N, easy to resize up or down a few sizes.
Note: the .64cts of rose cut Diamonds constitute around 40% of the price of this ring; the 3.8 grams of 18ct Gold used in its making constitute close to 30%.

The “rose” cut is an old gemstone cut, where the face of the gemstone is domed and faceted all over, and the reverse is cut flat. See below for further information about rose cut Diamonds.

Five Gemstone Ring, 18ct Gold. The centre Ruby in the above ring is a good strong red in colour, and is a good example of this precious gemstone, but it is centred in this cluster ring, really, to set off the adamantine sparkle of the surrounding four rose cut Diamonds.
The “rose” cut is an old cut, where the gemstone is facetted all across the top, the back usually being flat. As the cutting of Diamonds became ever more sophisticated from the dawn of the Industrial Age in the 1700s, with tools ever more precise, a sharper brilliance was achieved with side facets around a flat face, with a facetted triangular “pavilion” underneath, and the “rose” cut grew out of fashion.
Now there is only one Diamond cutting centre in the world still creating rose cuts, on the west coast of India.
