Cut Emerald bead necklace, the beads graduated from approx 4.8mm in the centre to 2.5mm at the ends. The beads have been cut in Jaipur Rajasthan India, one of India’s major gemstone cities. The Emerald material itself had its origin in Zambia, East Africa, a major world source for this rare and valuable gemstone.
The ten little Gold spacers around the centre Emeralds, handmade in 18ct Gold, add a very pretty touch, with another two of those little 18ct Gold spacers slotted just before the strand’s last two smallest Emeralds.
Note the necklace end rings and spring clasp are of 9ct Gold; the end rings are handmade Sydney but the spring clasp is imported from Italy, and the same clasp  in 18ct Gold, while no more effective, is simply very costly in this year 2023.
The necklace is stranded professionally in Sydney, on tiger-tail, a plastic-coated wire which is quite strong and also gives the strand a fine round swoop when worn.
